Belize: Sale of Lottery Tickets to Resume on December 1

November 3, 2023 — The Belize government will resume lottery games six months after they were suspended.

A government statement said the sale of government lottery tickets will resume on December 1 after considering the cultural significance and the tax revenues it generates.

The government and Belize Government Lotteries Limited say they remain committed to guaranteeing an increase in revenues, which will directly impact the lives of all Belizeans through the expansion of social safety net programmes.

The lottery was suspended in April to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
