VISBY, Sweden (December 21, 2023) — Svenska Spel and Elite Soccer Ladies, EFD, continue their long-term and successful collaboration. Among other things, the new agreement secures resources for the important certification and European bonus awarded to the teams that qualify for the Champions League qualifiers.
The collaboration between EFD and Svenska Spel has contributed to OBOS Damallsvenskan being one of the world’s best and most entertaining leagues today.
– The new agreement enables a continued investment in the elite at the same time as we invest in the future by ensuring a professional environment in the club teams and targeted investment in talent development. This year we saw the result of our long-term work when OBOS Damallsvenskan delivered its third best audience average ever while we have two teams in the Champions League group stage. In addition, we saw a Swedish national team with stars from home or brought up in our series impress in the WC. It gives inspiration to continue our important and fun journey together, says Patrik Hofbauer, president and CEO of Svenska Spel.
Svenska Spel has been football’s main sponsor since 1934. The cooperation agreement with EFD was entered into in 2009 and has since been extended and developed in two rounds.

The collaboration enables continued certification of the clubs in OBOS Damallsvenskan and Elitettan, which contributes to developing the clubs’ youth investment as well as quality assurance of coaches, leaders and facilities.
Svenska Spel will also continue to award the European bonus to the teams that will represent Sweden in the Uefa Women’s Champions League and strengthen their conditions in international contexts.
