Minnesota (February 9, 2024) — According to local media reports it appears that there is a contentious issue in Minnesota related to electronic pull tabs, with a push to roll back perceived harmful changes to their appearance. The controversy stems from Native American tribes arguing that these electronic pull tabs resemble slot machines, an appeals court ruling them illegal in their current form, and recent legislation passed by a DFL-controlled legislature following that court decision.

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle held an ‘E-tab townhall’ at Anoka’s American Legion Post 102 to discuss concerns and potential solutions. The Republican representatives expressed feeling left out of the conversation during the passage of last year’s legislation.
