Two Colorado Lottery Players Have Crossed the Finish Line to Win in the NASCAR Powerball Playoff™ Promotion
In the Powerball Playoff: 16 lottery players – one from from CO – are locked in for chance to win $1 million, the drawing to be broadcast live from 2024 NASCAR Championship Weekend
Pueblo, Colo. (September 3, 2024) – Two Colorado Lottery NASCAR promotion winners are revving up for exciting NASCAR experiences. As one of 16 out of 25 people to be drawn in the NASCAR Powerball Playoff™, Mary Mauro from Denver will win $2,500 automatically, plus a chance to win a VIP trip for two to 2024 NASCAR Championship Weekend™ at Phoenix Raceway® and entry into a nationally-televised drawing to win $1 million. Savino Barella, from Fort Collins, won a Colorado Lottery-sponsored accompanying promotion for a NASCAR Championship Weekend package to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race™.
An elimination-style promotion, in the NASCAR Powerball Playoff™ Mauro has four more drawings to potentially win both the NASCAR experience and $1 million. If she does not move forward to the next drawing, she still takes home $2,500. Barella’s NASCAR experience includes a trip for two to Phoenix, AZ, round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, tickets to the race, $1,000 spending cash, and all taxes paid.
Mauro told the Colorado Lottery that she is an avid Colorado Lottery player. Over the years, she’s won a bit here and there, including a Nuggets package back in the Carmelo Anthony days, and three years ago won $5K on the Wild Cash Scratch ticket. She’s never been to NASCAR, but says if she’s picked, they are all set to go. She’s thinking about a family vacation to Hawaii with her $2,500 winnings if she doesn’t move forward and added that it “feels good” to support parks and outdoors, and playing is fun!
Barella admitted that he and his wife don’t know very much about NASCAR, but they are excited at the opportunity to attend the big race. When he purchased his usual Powerball ticket with “the works,” he saw that he was entered and thought, “fat chance I’ll ever win.” This is the first time he’s won a substantial prize.
The 16 lottery players were publicly announced during the broadcast of the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on USA Network. The 16 lottery players will advance to a series of Playoff drawings that mirror the elimination rounds of the NASCAR Playoffs. The four lottery players still in the Playoff after the Championship 4 drawing will win a VIP trip for two to NASCAR Championship Weekend™ at Phoenix Raceway®, Nov. 8-10, plus entry into the drawing for the $1 million prize.
The $1 million drawing will be broadcast live during NBC’s pre-race coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race™ on Sunday, Nov. 10. Cash prizes will be awarded to all 16 lottery players based on their elimination position.
