Price Increase Has Not Hindered Lottery Sales
Sri Lanka (July 10, 2023) — Though the price of lottery tickets had been increased to Rs. 40 each, the sale of lottery tickets on Thursday (6) was very successful, the National Lotteries Board (NLB) and the Development Lotteries Board (DLB) said.
General Manager of the NLB Mrs. Hasini Jayasekara, said the main reason for the success of the sale is that many sales representatives and sales assistants across the country are selling lotteries with enthusiasm and dedication and also the increased prize money.
“The prize money of some NLB lottery tickets has been doubled and tripled, and the prize money of some lottery tickets has been increased from Rs. 2,000 to 5,000 and the prize money of Rs. 10,000 has been increased to 100,000,” she said.
The General Manager further said that a special promotion programme will be implemented by the board for sales representatives and sales assistants.
Meanwhile, she said the board was performing well throughout the island as expected and that lottery sales agents and sales assistants were involved in 98 percent of the sales.
